Dhanvantri, the physician of gods, who appeared at the churning of the ocean is worshipped on this day, specially by the physician-community. He is the father of Indian science of medicine and Ayurveda is attributed to him. He is also called Sudha pani, because he appeared from the ocean, carrying nectar in his hands. This pooja is to be done when a person is suffering from ill health. When this pooja is done once in a year,there is an atmosphere of positive energy everywhere, thereby reducing ill effects on the health. This Puja is very powerful. The japas and ahutis will be done by learned experts and the cost includes havan samagri.
