What is Kuja Dosha?
When Kuja (Mars) is posited in a horoscope in the houses 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th from the Ascendant, it is called ‘Kuja dosha' or 'Mangalik' (ill effect of Mars). In the horoscope, the 2nd house represents family and happiness of the native. 4th house represents childhood and the psychology developed out of the influences at childhood. 7th house represents marriage and partner. 8th house represents the maangalya (welfare) of the spouse. 12th house represents bed comforts. So, when natural malefic Mars is posited in these houses, we can expect some disharmony in the affairs of these houses which leads to dissatisfaction in the married life and finally separation of the couple.
Kuja dosha leads to separation of the couple. Here separation may be due to one of the couple going abroad and staying there for a longer period. Separation can also represent the ill health of one of the couple because of which they cannot enjoy the conjugal bliss. Sometimes Kuja dosha indicates death of the partner also.
How to find out whether one has Kuja Dosha?
· Study of one`s chart or horoscope would reveal the placement of Planet Mars in the horoscope.
· The planet`s effect on the 7th house of Marriage is studied.
· If Mars is present in its own house or the 1st house, then the dosha does not happen.
· Position of this planet would help one know,whether one suffers from this dosha or not.
Effects of Kuja dosha
When Mars is situated in the 1st house: The 1st house represents the house of spouse.Thus it normally affects the married life leading to unnecessary conflicts. It might also lead to physical assault and violence. Due to such unacceptable behavior such a person might suffer from tension, distress, separation or even divorce.
When Mars is situated in the 2nd house: A person’s family life is affected. It also creates obstacles in the married life and the professional life.
When Mars is situated in the 4th house: This will have adverse effects at the professional front. Such a person will switch jobs and also will not be successful professionally. Financial trouble will keep lurking.
When Mars is situated in the 7th house: Such a person has too much of energy and will be ill-tempered resulting in not being able to maintain cordial relationship with family members. Also this person will be very dominating and dictating over his or her partner and s/he might also have many partners.
